*Through NinjaOne’s endpoint management platform, outside its MDM feature set.
** Scalefusion lists on-premises deployment for large enterprises.1
- Multi-OS endpoint support: One console manages devices from more than one OS vendor, such as Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
- Linux device management: Admins can enroll Linux computers and apply settings or run scripts on them from the console.
- On-premise deployment option: The customer can run the management server on its own infrastructure instead of the vendor’s cloud.
- Android management in core product: The product enrolls and manages Android devices without a separate product or console.
- AOSP (non-GMS) device management: The product manages Android devices that lack Google Mobile Services (GMS), Google’s apps and APIs, including the Play Store. Rugged scanners and other industrial devices often run this version of Android, which is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
ManageEngine MDM alternatives compared by pricing
*The table shows monthly equivalents of annual list prices.
** NinjaOne publishes $1.50 for 10,000 endpoints and $3.75 for 50 or fewer, so $1.50 isn’t an entry price.
*** Fast Start costs $1.64 but covers only iOS and Android phones and tablets.

On-premises, the same plans cost about $0.83 and $1.49, and each extra technician costs $345.
ManageEngine MDM alternatives
Remote lock and wipe, kiosk mode and app deployment are standard across these products, so the sections below cover what differs.
NinjaOne
NinjaOne sells MDM as one module of its endpoint management platform.
Core features:
- Wider device scope: The same console covers Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and Linux computers, virtual machines and networking devices.
- Network monitoring: The Network Management System monitors network devices over SNMP, and admins can add custom metrics for models with incomplete data.3
Ticketing: Each ticket opens with device data, asset history and remediation tools.4
Microsoft Intune
Microsoft relies on Microsoft Entra ID for sign-in, user groups and access decisions, and every admin center action is backed by a Microsoft Graph API call.5
Core features:
- Conditional Access: Intune sends each device’s compliance state to Entra, which can block access to corporate resources.
- Configuration Manager: Most Intune licenses include rights to Configuration Manager, Microsoft’s on-premises tool for Windows, and co-management moves workloads to Intune in stages.
- Personal devices: App protection policies control work data in apps such as Outlook and Teams without managing the rest of the device.
- Microsoft Tunnel: This VPN gateway runs in a Linux container on the customer’s network and serves iOS, iPadOS and Android Enterprise devices.6
Device-only licenses: Kiosks and shared devices can use a per-device license, which excludes Conditional Access and app protection.

JumpCloud
JumpCloud combines device management with its own cloud directory.
Core features:
- Cloud LDAP: Hosted LDAP servers authenticate users to LDAP-connected systems, with optional MFA and no on-premises hardware.12
- Cloud RADIUS: Users authenticate to Wi-Fi networks and VPNs without RADIUS servers to maintain.13
- Conditional access: Policies can limit users to trusted devices and networks and require MFA.14
- System Insights: The product reports event data across managed devices, and admins can export it as CSV or send it to a SIEM through APIs.

Core features:
- Headsets and rugged devices: It enrolls Microsoft HoloLens 2 and Meta Quest for Business headsets and supports Zebra LifeGuard.19

How to choose a ManageEngine MDM alternative
Which devices do you manage?
- Apple only: Jamf Pro covers this fleet. You will need another tool if Windows or Linux endpoints join it.
- Zebra or other rugged devices: Start with SOTI MobiControl and Ivanti Neurons for MDM, which both support Zebra LifeGuard. Scalefusion adds Zebra firmware updates from its Business plan.
- Linux: Intune supports Ubuntu and RHEL, and JumpCloud’s agent supports more distributions. You can also stay with ManageEngine, which points Linux desktops and laptops to its Endpoint Central product.
- Network devices: NinjaOne manages them in the same console as mobile devices.
What does your IT setup require?
- Microsoft 365: Check your licenses first. Microsoft 365 E3, E5 and Business Premium include Intune Plan 1.
- A self-hosted server: Hexnode UEM, Jamf Pro and SOTI MobiControl offer on-premises deployment. Scalefusion lists it for large enterprises, so confirm that your fleet qualifies.
- No company directory: JumpCloud includes one with device management.
- Work email kept separate from personal data: IBM MaaS360 offers this from Deluxe, and Ivanti Neurons for MDM offers Email+ in Premium.
Is cost your main reason to leave?
Compare against ManageEngine first. At 50 devices, Standard costs less than every published paid plan in the pricing table, and Professional costs less than all of them except IBM Fast Start. Add ManageEngine’s technician fee if several admins need access.
Miradore’s Free plan covers 50 devices, against 25 for ManageEngine’s free edition. It excludes app deployment and kiosk mode. ManageEngine’s free edition includes both.
FAQs
MDM controls the device itself, including enrollment, settings and security. EMM adds app management and covers laptops and PCs used outside the office. UEM combines EMM with client management tools for on-site PCs and laptops, so one tool covers all end-user devices.
Zero-touch enrollment is automated device provisioning. A new device enrolls in MDM out of the box, without IT handling it. Apple Business Manager, Android Zero Touch and Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment work this way, but they generally expect devices bought from verified resellers. Apple Configurator can add other Apple devices to Apple Business Manager.
Not always. Company-owned Apple devices on iOS 26, iPadOS 26 or macOS 26 and later can move to a new service without a wipe, if they were enrolled through Automated Device Enrollment. Most company-owned Android devices need a wipe and re-enrollment. NinjaOne refuses devices that are still enrolled in another MDM.20
MDM can track location, and admins control when. ManageEngine’s location tracking supports asset management and lost-device recovery. It uses GPS, Wi-Fi and GSM and stores location history for up to 30 days.21 Admins can track personal devices only when lost, or exclude them.
