We benchmarked eBay across 4 web scraping providers, totaling 1,400 requests over search and product pages of 7 eBay country sites, measuring both success rate and end-to-end completion time.

What data you can scrape from eBay
Bright Data, Apify and SerpApi were the three providers that returned parsed JSON. Field counts came to 59 per product for Bright Data and 10 for Apify in our runs, while SerpApi returns 54. The table keeps only the fields a single provider is the sole source of.
The remaining providers did not return ready-made JSON fields. Their responses came back as rendered HTML, so the data has to be pulled out by parsing the page with CSS selectors rather than reading structured fields directly.

eBay scraping providers
Bright Data was the top performer on eBay in our benchmark, succeeding on 99.1% of requests, the highest success rate of any provider tested, with a median end-to-end completion time of roughly 25 seconds.
Bright Data has four scraper APIs available for eBay:
- eBay, Collect products by URL (ebay.com): targets individual product listing pages and pulls structured product data, including title, price, condition, seller information, buyer feedback and ratings, item specifics, shipping details, and images.
- eBay, Discover by category (ebay.com): collects product records by browsing a given eBay category rather than a single URL.
- eBay, Discover by keywords (ebay.com): gathers product data from eBay search results for specified keywords.
- eBay, Discover by shop URL (ebay.com): collects the full product catalog listed by a given eBay seller/shop.
Ready-made datasets for eBay also live in Bright Data’s Dataset Marketplace:
eBay Products dataset: a pre-built collection of eBay listings with product details, pricing, seller information, and customer feedback. Common use cases are pricing intelligence, competitor monitoring, and market research.
For the benchmark, Bright Data handled eBay’s two page types differently. Product pages were run through Bright Data’s eBay, Collect products by URL scraper API, which returned structured JSON with listing-level fields (title, price, seller, ratings, and item specifics). Search/listing pages were not routed through a dedicated eBay scraper; instead they went through Bright Data’s Web Unlocker, which returned raw rendered HTML that we then parsed ourselves.

Visit WebsiteOxylabs offers a single Web Scraper API endpoint (realtime.oxylabs.io/v1/queries) that covers eBay through two source types:
Universal source (source: universal): a general-purpose scraper that takes any eBay URL, product or listing, with optional headless rendering (render: html).
eBay Search source (source: ebay_search): a dedicated eBay source for search/listing results, driven by query parameters rather than a full URL.

Visit WebsiteDecodo offers a Site Unblocker for eBay: a proxy endpoint (unblock.decodo.com) that fetches any eBay URL, product or listing, directly through the proxy and returns the page.
JavaScript rendering: the unblocker can execute JavaScript and return the fully rendered page (via an X-Smartproxy-Js-Render flag).
It exposes a single, general-purpose mechanism that works the same way for both product and search pages, without an eBay-specific scraper.

Visit WebsiteSerpApi offers two eBay engines: ebay for search pages and ebay_product for a single listing. The search engine takes a keyword in _nkw, flags ads with sponsored, and returns each result with its product_id plus a ready serpapi_link for the product call, so no URL construction is needed between the two steps.
The search response has eight separate blocks rather than one list: organic results, inline results, deals, inline categories, popular filters, related items, related searches and review highlights. Popular filters come with their own serpapi_link, so a filtered re-query is one call away.
Destination-aware shipping: passing shipping_country returns shipping cost, delivery window, handling time and import duties calculated for that country.
It parses each page into JSON rather than returning markup, so there are no selectors to maintain, and it covers only the two eBay layouts it has engines for.
Zyte was called through a single endpoint, the Zyte API (api.zyte.com/v1/extract), used the same way for every eBay page. Each request passed the target URL plus the extraction type wanted, with browserHtml: true so the page was rendered in a headless browser before extraction.
For the benchmark, Zyte handled eBay’s two page types with two extraction modes on that same API:
- Product pages were requested with
productextraction (extractFrom: browserHtml,ai: true). - Search/listing pages were requested with
productListextraction (extractFrom: browserHtml,ai: true).
In our benchmark, Zyte succeeded on 95.4% of eBay requests, with a median end-to-end completion time of roughly 17 seconds.
Nimble was called through a single real-time endpoint, the Nimble Web API (api.webit.live/api/v1/realtime/web), used the same way for every eBay page. Each request passed the target URL with render: true (so the page was rendered in a headless browser), parse: true (requesting structured parsing), format: json, a locale, and a country set to match the eBay site being scraped (US, GB, DE, FR, IT, ES, CA).
For the benchmark, both eBay page types were sent the same way. Product pages and search/listing pages used the identical request shape on that endpoint, with only the URL and country differing; Nimble was not given a page-type-specific extraction mode for product versus search.
Nimble succeeded on 14.3% of eBay requests, with a median end-to-end completion time of roughly 92 seconds in eBay scraping benchmark.
Apify succeeded on 93.1% of eBay requests, with a median end-to-end completion time of roughly 61 seconds.
It was called through a single actor, the E-commerce Scraping Tool (apify~e-commerce-scraping-tool), run synchronously via /v2/acts/apify~e-commerce-scraping-tool/run-sync-get-dataset-items. The same actor was used for every eBay page.
The two eBay page types were passed to the actor in different input fields. Product pages were supplied in detailsUrls, and search/listing pages in listingUrls. Each run was configured with scrapeMode: AUTO and included a countryCode, which matched the eBay site for some domains (US, GB, DE, FR) but fell back to us for ebay.ca, ebay.es, and ebay.it.
eBay scraping benchmark methodology
We pulled the eBay results out of our broader e-commerce scraping benchmark, where we put 5 web data providers through 100 e-commerce domains. Keeping only the eBay domains, along with their product and listing page results, gives us the eBay benchmark.
How we validated URLs, which scraper we chose for each provider, and the exact content checks we ran, is written up in the e-commerce scraping benchmark.
