Search results, prices, ads, product availability, languages, shipping options, and local pages can change based on your IP location.
To show how proxies perform across different locations, we measured the top proxy providers in different countries and compared their success rates and response times.
Keep in mind that residential, datacenter, mobile, and ISP proxies can behave differently, even within the same location.

How proxy performance changes by location
Proxy provider success rates by location
Proxy provider response times by location
A proxy’s location affects the reliability and speed of your connection. Our benchmark results from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada show that proxy performance changes by country. Even with the same provider, success rates and response times can vary depending on where the test is performed.
The UK test showed the highest success rates among the three countries, with most providers working reliably. Response times in the UK were also steadier than the larger differences seen in Canada.
In the US, success rates were usually lower than in the UK, but response times were still good enough for many providers. This means US proxy locations can work well, but testing providers is still important.
The Canada benchmark showed the most differences. Success rates were lower than in the US and the UK, and response times varied more across providers. This does not mean you should avoid Canada proxies, but it shows why careful testing is important before choosing a provider for bigger jobs.
United Kingdom proxy locations
UK proxies show more consistent success rates than US and Canada proxies in the benchmark. Most providers tested had high success rates, and response times were similar across providers.
In the UK proxy server benchmark, Bright Data appears to be the success-rate pick, while Apify appears to be the response-time pick. This means Bright Data may be a better reference point when reliability is the main concern, while Apify may be more relevant when response time is the priority. However, Apify’s success rate line is less stable than that of the strongest UK performers, so speed should not be treated as the only factor.
This makes UK proxies a practical choice when you need access to the UK. However, pick this location if your target is UK-specific, not because UK proxies seem better for every task.

United States proxy locations
Our benchmark data show that the effectiveness of US proxies varies by proxy provider. Success rates are usually fair to good, but response times can change. Try out the provider, proxy type, and website before using them a lot.
In the US proxy benchmark, Decodo appears to be the success-rate pick, while Apify appears to be the response-time pick. This means Decodo may be more suitable when completed requests matter more, while Apify may be more suitable when speed is the main concern.
Bright Data and Oxylabs also remain close in parts of the success-rate chart, so the full US benchmark should be checked before choosing a provider for larger tasks.
The main reason to use US proxies is to get US-specific information or user experience, not for faster or more stable connections. Choose a United States proxy to visit websites, search results, product pages, or campaigns that are available in the US.
For detailed charts on success rates and response times, see the dedicated article on US proxies.
Canada proxy locations
In our Canada proxy benchmark, providers show more variation than in our US and UK proxy benchmarks. Success rates are lower during the test period, and response times vary more between providers. This means you should test Canada proxies carefully before using them a lot.
In this benchmark, Bright Data appears to be the success-rate pick, while Apify appears to be the response-time pick. However, because the Canada proxy benchmark is more variable overall, the difference between providers should be checked in the full article before making a decision.
This does not make Canada proxies less important. Use them when your target market is Canada, but pay special attention to provider selection and benchmark testing.
